WHY TESLA

Why Tesla FSD - Full Self Driving  -  Beyond Safety

It was 2019 when Tesla first announced their Robotaxi Intent at a Tesla “Investor Day” held at the

Tesla Giga factory in Berlin for Tesla Wall Street Shareholders at that time.. It was in advance of 2019 when all Production Line Tesla vehicles were first equipped with the  essential Camera Sensors and On-Board Compute required to enable Autonomous Driving.

That Hardware needs to be complimented  with appropriate performant Software, the delivery method of the

required Software  is through a dedicated  Over The Air (OTA) Download to the car  via a Wi-FI connection.

The branding of this Software package has evolved from Autopilot to FSD,  to FSD Beta,  and now FSD (Supervised)

The design, development and delivery of an Autonomous Vehicle( AV) has proven to be a very difficult challenge

and only now, in late 2025 is the  Tesla FSD mission being delivered. Convincing In-Car video evidence from

multiple cities (15) worldwide and live video testimonials from thousands of Tesla Owners who,  in good faith, purchased the Software Upgrade, is NOW proving the safe competence of Tesla FSD Supervised.

FSD Software competence has matured by orders of magnitude whilst  the Hardware demands have also

evolved over time.  It remains to be seen exactly which of the Tesla Car Fleet  may require a Hardware upgrade

to achieve the ultimate Performance of the Software in delivering the Holy Grail of Full Autonomous & Safe Self Driving.

Success has been achieved through the development of ‘Real-World’ Embodied Artificial Super-Intelligence.

Neural Networks capable of Self Learning and Billions of Dollars in Training compute have unlocked this SuperPower.

The commercial opportunities delivered by such an innovation are immense.

It is this technology delivered by Tesla that gave birth to MYRobotaxi.vip

The Tesla Roll Out: Tesla FSD Full Self Driving Software

5000 per Day

Tesla vehicles  being produced each day, globally are now fully equipped with the essential hardware to operate Autonomously.

The Optional Purchase and Over The Air (OTA) download of FSD (Supervised)  Software activates Autonomous capabilities.

The deployment of vehicles in to the Tesla Robotaxi fleet is a commercial choice dependent upon regulations in any given area.

FSD (Supervised) Pricing-Nov 2025:

$8000 or $99 pcm Subscription.

FSD in the UK

The software has been available to all UK Tesla owners since 2019, the efficacy and its progressive evolution has been severely constrained by the UNECE regulations which have now been overcome by the implementation of the UK AV act of 2024. There are approximately 280,000 Tesla vehicles registered in the UK, it is not known how many versions of FSD have been downloaded in the UK. The founders of MYRobotaxi.vip have been active Tesla Beta testers since 2019.

FSD Unsupervised - December 2025

In November 2025 Tesla announced that they expected FSD supervised to graduate to Unsupervised by the end of 2025. There is no formal guidance from Tesla about how this might be priced. Subsequent international rollout and availability will depend upon local regulations. The UK is well positioned with the AV act of May 2024 and Waymo announcing a UK launch in Q2 2026.

June 2025

Tesla’s Robotaxi Service, which uses Ex Factory autonomous Model Y vehicles, officially launched in Austin, Texas on June 22, 2025, with an initial deployment of 10 vehicles in a limited area. A Paranoid Abundance of caution prevailed with a ‘Safety Observer’ in every car.

August 2025

The service expanded rapidly, including multiple geofence increases in Austin (e.g., from 91 to 173 square miles by August 2025) and the addition of highway driving capabilities in September 2025.

September 2025

It rolled out to the San Francisco Bay Area and the Robotaxi app became available for public download and waitlist access

in early September 2025.

October 2025

The service area in Austin grew further, and Tesla began incorporating advanced FSD software updates from the

Robotaxi build into general vehicle releases for improved handling of rare conditions. The fleet is constantly learning and sharing.

November 2025

Beyond Austin Texas and the Bay Area, Tesla will be launched in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston and Miami by the end of 2025. Announced  plans for expansion into two additional U.S. states, with sightings of Robotaxis operating in Houston ahead of official rollout.

January 2026

Tesla is targeting a fleet scale-up to over 1,500 vehicles by year-end, focusing on Austin and the Bay Area, though temporary regulatory hurdles have led to some delays in unsupervised operations.

Overall momentum is strong, with Elon Musk highlighting the culmination of a decade of AI hardware and software development, and independent projections suggesting Tesla could dominate > 35% of the U.S. robotaxi market.

TESLA Robotaxi Pricing:
Evidence of Price Per Mile (PPM)

Tesla Robotaxi initially launched with a flat fee of $4.20 per ride in June 2025, which increased to $6.90 in mid-July as the service area expanded. By late July, it shifted to dynamic pricing under the policy “Short rides now cost less,” incorporating a base fare and per-mile charges. User-reported data from rides in July shows an average of approximately $1.02 per mile

Other estimates include a $1.00 base fare plus $1.00 per mile, leading to an average of $1.23 per mile travelled.

26.png

Short Trips: 1.36 Miles

1.36-mile route costs $3.84 on Robotaxi, : $2.82/mile

$9.93 (~$7.30/mile) on Uber,

$10.85 (~$7.97/mile) on Lyft,

$21.54 (~$15.80/mile) on Waymo.

Longer Trips: 11 Miles

Waymo range from $22–$26 (~$2/mile)

Tesla would be $12.00

Tesla PPM is currently variable and dynamic as they expand carefully into new operating areas, but given the commitment to the Tesla Robotaxi Fleet and the appointment of Independent Fleet Operators to fulfil their asset light ambitions, the ultimate PPM is likely to settle around  > $1.50 per mile in the US which is greater than half of current ride prices.

RoboTaxi Expansion Plans

Job Vacancy Postings suggest upcoming expansions to New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Chicago, with ambitious targets for 500 vehicles in Austin and 1000 in the bay Area by End 2025.

Austin Texas & San Francisco now, with commitment to Las Vegas, Phenix ,Dallas, Houston, New York and Miami by End of 2025

Evidence of Related Recruitment

Tesla’s recruitment for Robotaxi has focused on U.S. expansion, with job postings indicating preparations for 24/7 operations in multiple states.
