MARKET PRICING

Robotaxi.jpg

The Price of a Ride Dictates the Market Size
Ultimately the Market = Total Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT)

uber v taxi

Existing Market - Expensive Taxi Rides:

Primarily driven by analogue vehicles powered by Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) consuming petrol and diesel fossil fuels, all while  polluting the air that we breathe. Heavy maintenance, high fuel costs  and human labor dictate unit cost economics. Competitive Market forces over decades have establish the current market pricing,

Emerging Market - Lower Pricing:

New Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) cost substantially less to operate & produce zero emissions. New Autonomous Technology excludes the human labour costs.

The New AV Industry:

Robotaxis will redefine the Price of a Ride. Ultimately pricing could be one order of magnitude less than todays established prices at which point private car ownership may become optional-subject to wait times.

Total VMT

When PPM matches that of a Bus Ride and wait time is under 5 minutes Robotaxi services could replace Car ownership and become the first choice for Public Transport.

HAILING

Pricing of an existing Ride can be a complex algorithm, largely due to the involvement of a Human Driver. Time is a human overhead; heavy traffic can increase the Time a Driver is working  to deliver the Ride. ‘Deadhead Miles’ are Miles driven without directly related Income which consume a Drivers Time. Unsociable hours dictate premium income for drivers. Existing operators attempt to recover Deadhead Miles by charging a premium for the first few miles and/or a one-off Fee per Ride. The New Robotaxi Industry is set to redefine the Price Per Mile (PPM) of a Ride: Time has no cost implications for a Driverless Taxi.

Autonomous Ride-Hail Will Reduce Costs, Including Deadhead Miles

Autonomous electric travel will reduce costs, including fuel, insurance, and deadhead miles, thanks to higher utilisation, increased safety and efficiency, and electric drivetrains. Deadhead Miles are the number of miles driven without passengers, which account for ~35% of ride-hail miles today. Autonomous vehicles could reduce deadhead miles by removing the human-in-the-loop and harnessing AI tools to predict demand and traffic patterns. We have budgeted for 20% given our local density planning

MYRobotaxi.vip has considerable Pricing Elasticity

The Price Of a US Ride Today – Ride Hail from Uber and Lyft  versus  Waymo. October 2025
Even with No Driver, Waymo currently Prices above the competition  to reflect the value of privacy.
In the US Tipping Culture is a real cost, there is no subjective or practical TIP obligation in a Driverless Robotaxi.
This discrepancy enables Waymo to publish higher PPM for the purpose of comparison.
